I'm going to attempt to walk 50 miles on Saturday, May 4th to raise money for two organizations, each of which is meaningful to me in its own way. First, walking has become a major activity in New Albany, where we live. Walk With A Doc is putting on this event to help it open up more chapters nationwide. I'm donating to them on our family's behalf.
I'm also walking to help raise funds for Multiple Myeloma (MM) research and therapies at The James, The Ohio State University's Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Why? As many of you know, my wife, Kim, was diagnosed with MM about 10 years ago. The prognosis for anyone with MM is not the best, but The James rallied behind Kim, giving our family 10 years and, we trust, many more, together.
Since her diagnosis and treatments, I've honored Kim's fight by raising money against MM by running for Kim, swimming for Kim and, now, walking for her.
Would you consider making a donation as a grateful-to-The-James dad/father attempts to walk 50 miles -- to celebrate Kim's story and to fight Multiple Myeloma -- one step at a time. Just click the green "Give Now" button to get started. Thanks for joining me in exclaiming, "Cancer sucks!".
