Each year, in advance of the Ohio State vs. Michigan football game, the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity runs a football from one campus to the other, ending where the game is being played that year, to raise money for cancer research. This year, the Ohio State and Michigan Pike chapters have decided to go at it competition style to see which chapter can raise more money for cancer research. The Rivalry Run is a 187-mile run through the sometimes dark, often cold, Midwest in the fall. This year's Rivalry Run will begin in Ann Arbor on Thursday November 15th and end in Columbus on Friday November 16th at The Shoe.
Last year, both chapters combined to raise over $50,000 to donate to cancer research. With it being a competition this year, Ohio State's Pike chapter will be making all its donations to the The Urban F. Meyer III and Shelley M. Meyer Fund for Cancer Research and the Michigan chapter donating to the Patient and Family Support Services Program through the Coach Lloyd and Laurie Carr Cancer Fund at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center. Since we are the home team this year, we hope you can help us reach our goal of beating Michigan and most importantly, Beat Cancer!
